《救赎》:律师的煽情控诉颠倒黑白

　　银行家杜弗伦（Dufresne）被指控谋杀妻子及其情夫。在犯罪现场附近，警察找到了他的脚印、留有他指纹的摔碎的酒瓶、他的汽车轮胎的痕迹、他的手枪的匹配弹壳，一切罪证都指向他，再加上律师向陪审团作的添油加醋、“头头是道”（说他把一轮子弹打空以后又上满一轮）的分析，他是在劫难逃了，其实他真的是被冤枉的……

L: Ladies and gentlemen, you've heard all of the evidence. You know now the facts. We have the accused at the scene of the crime. We have footprints, tire cracks. We have bullets on the ground bearing his fingerprints. A broken boubon bottle, likewise with fingerprints.

And most of all, we have a beautiful young woman and her lover lying dead in each other's arms. They had sinned. But was their crime so great as to merit a death sentence?

While you thind about that, think about this: A revolver holds six bullets, not eight. I submit that this was not a hot-blooded crime of passion. That at least could be understanding, if not condoned. No. This was revenge of a much more brutal and cold-blooded nature. Consider this: Four bullets per victim. Not six shots fred, but eight. That means that he fired the gun empty, and then stopped again, reloaded it. An extra bullet per lover, right in the head.
