　　邀请了全家过个传统的团圆的圣诞节，可是上司答应的奖金没有发，已经订购的家庭游泳池不能按时付款了，更糟糕的是，讨厌的表兄又来了……

Once again, the Griswolds meet misfortune in "Christmas Vacation," which some families, especially those with older children, consider to be a Christmas comedy classic.

Chevy Chase is the hapless Clark who invites the whole family for a "fun-filled old-fashioned family Christmas." It's up on the housetop for Clark when the relatives begin to trickle in.

Unfortunately, Clark's Christmas bonus hasn't arrived yet. That complicates things even more because he wants to give his family a pool, already ordered. And making matters worse is the arrival of Clark's disgusting cousin Eddie, played wonderfully by Randy Quaid, who brings along his crew in a mobile home.
