China Introducing Technology

Since implementation of the strategy of rejuvenating trade through science and technology in 1999, the Ministry of Commerce joined hands with related departments to take positive measures to perfect regulations and policies and promote stable and sound development of technology introduction.

　　According to statistics of the Ministry of Commerce, China introduced about 50,000 items of Technology from 1999 to 2005. Total value of contract was over US$100 billion, cost of technology was US$62.3 billion, accounting for 57.6% of total value of contract of introduced technology. In 2005, cost of technology was US$11.83 billion, accounting for 62.3% of total value of contract, 31 percentage points higher than that in 1999, which indicated that enterprises transferred their former concept of technology introduction under guidance of the government, and quality of technology introduction improved a lot
